In this account book, Captain Benjamin D. Pritchard recorded the equipment and supplies used and needed by Company L of the 4th Michigan Cavalry. The ledgers mainly span from August 1862 to August 1863 (roughly), though a couple outliers from 1866 are included. Various lists of items include weaponry, clothing, horses, and camp gear. Near the end, Pritchard wrote down a resolution of the officers of the 4th Michigan Cavalry to give the flag of the 1st Alabama Cavalry Regiment to the People of the State of Michigan. The 4th Michigan captured the flag at Middleton, Tennessee, on May 22, 1862, when they overran a Confederate camp. (Note: please refer to the item, "Excerpt from Benjamin D. Pritchard Military Account Book, 1862-1863: Resolution on Alabama Flag," for a transcription of these two pages)
