The money that Davis sent to his wife in the last letter has made it safely to his wife's hands, and Davis is sending ten dollars in this letter but is not confident that it will reach her. A couple days ago, Davis' regiment received orders to keep ready to march with several days rations on hand. No one is sure where they will be going or why they are preparing to move away from Corinth. Davis doesn't think they are preparing for a battle with the Confederates, but he is very nervous and anxiously awaiting the arrival of new troops.
