Davis writes to his wife to express his hapiness that she is feeling better and describes other sickness that he has been made aware of by friends and in letters. He has sent some of his clothing in the mail along with that of his friends and wishes Lucinda to make use of it if she can. The ring that he sent her previously was broken, and he is sending another one in the mail made of bone, silver, and wax. His regiment has flooded the land surrounding them, and he is once again looking forward to the day that the war ends.
