Davis writes to Lucinda informing her that New Years has passed and they are still in Milwaukee. He notes that over half of the Regiment has not arrived, and suspects they will later tonight. Davis further details that he does not think they will leave here before Wednesday. Davis writes that there is good sleighing here, and that the athletic individuals are enjoying themselves. He continues by noting that as he was writing he received a letter from Lucinda, and in response instructs her to tell Harriet to write to him. Davis notes that Bill Cleary has not arrived yet, and that Robert McMichael said Henry Johnson was arrested for desertion and stealing. Davis concludes by detailing that they plan to head for Nashville once they leave.
