Davis writes to Lucinda noting that he is in good health. He details that they have left Chicago and are now in Indianapolis. He further notes that they were meant to leave for Louisville last night but had no transportation. Davis writes that the weather is cold and snowy, therefore to prevent himself from sleeping in the Barracks he got himself a hotel room for the night. Davis concludes by noting that Jake Clear was arrested for murdering a Norwegian man in Chicago.
