Davis writes to Lucinda noting that they are still in Cincinnati. He details that there is heavy ice in the river preventing boats from running, therefore the men must wait until they can get transportation to New York on the railroad. Davis details that they have not received any mail since leaving Nashville, and that he suspects it has been sent to Savannah. He writes that there has been talk of going to Camp Denison, however no plans have been made. Davis notes that the men are still on the boat and that they are running out of money. He details that many people have borrowed money from him, however he has ensured to keep enough for his own use. Davis concludes his letter by describing Cincinnati to Lucinda.
