Godfrey Kline of the Michigan 10th Cavalry Regiment writes to Emma from Camp Lee in Richmond, Virginia, to say that he is enjoying the life of a soldier. He notes that he will send her a photograph of himself once he can afford it. George ends the letter with two short poems. (Note: Godfrey Kline enlisted as a private in Company I of the Michigan 10th Cavalry in August or September of 1863. He was promoted to corporal but died of illness in Knoxville, Tennessee, on July 13, 1864).
