Benjamin writes that he has been on a twenty-two day campaign to capture Jackson. He calls this the Battle of Jackson, but it has become known as the Siege of Jackson or, more appropriately, the Jackson Expedition. He adds that Will Shaw will likely seek to be discharged because he is too ill to continue serving.
