Gooding mentions a raid they executed on a Confederate campsite. He abruptly shifts from describing the casualties to the weather. Gooding makes note of how officers have been increasingly resigning and returning home. Additionally, he briefly discusses his own Michigan regiment and his encounters with other Michiganders.
