B.H. Thomas writes to one of his sons (presumably to Benjamin Jr. since Amos is already in the hospital and B.H. begs his son to avoid doing things that can cause illness). B.H. is experiencing painful swelling and believes he is about to die. He gives advice to his son about taking care of his body, mind, and soul.
