This is a letter from Webster Teachout, a Union soldier, to his father. Teachout talks about how his father visited him right before he wrote this letter, and how things have been at camp since he was there. A couple of his friends are recovering from illness and some obtained furlows and returned home. He asks his father what the news is from home, specifically about his uncles.
