Barriers and pathways to micro and small enterprise participation in Caribbean tourism : a value chain analysis
"The prospect for economic development and poverty reduction in many parts of the developing world is linked directly to the continued growth and development of the tourism industry. In an attempt to pursue sustainable tourism development, public policies have emphasized the need to increase micro and small enterprise (MSE) participation and to increase linkages between tourism and the wider economy. However, there is a lack of consensus on the policy levers that can best meet this goal. This dissertation aims to explore how MSEs participation in global tourism value chains and suggest policy initiatives to increase MSE participation." -- Abstract.
