U.S. President Barack Obama addresses the United Nations General Assembly
President Obama addresses the United Nations General Assembly. He begins by talking about the life of the late Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was killed during an attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya. Obama says the events of the previous weeks are an assault on the ideals of the U.N. He also speaks about Iran's nuclear program, warning that "the United States will do what we must to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon." Obama comments on a number of democratic movements in the Arab world calling for cooperation, open minds, and a focus on education and economic development instead of sectarian violence. Obama is introduced by UN General Assembly President Vuk Jeremic.
