Interview of the Xiong family, Hmong immigrants from Laos. Part 2
Former soldier and Hmong immigrant Kao Xiong recounts his role in the Laotian Civil War and his subsequent escape to the to Ban Vinai refugee camp in Thailand, where he spent five years. He recalls what it was like to meet and marry his wife in the camp, the pain of separation from family and friends when they emigrated to Michigan and the difficulty of adjusting to a new way of life.
